Michel Fokine was one of the most innovative choreographers of Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. His choreography of the Polovstian dances from Borodin's opera Prince Igor incorporated the vigorous and athletic style of the Russian folk dance tradition. The audience stormed the stage after Diaghilev debuted this work in Paris in 1909; the production was designed by Nicholas Roehrich. Fokine emphasized powerful, male dancing and dramatic expression. This ballet really catches fire at the end - it can be seen a precurser to the later Broadway musical. I'll try and improve the quality of the clip. article on what to expect from fokine's choreography: http://www.ballet.co.uk/magazines/yr_01/jul01/bmc_fokine_glasstone.htm
