Kenya's Mwai Kibaki was sworn in as President of Kenya for a second term on Sunday after a tight election but Raila Odinga, his opposition challenger, accused him of stealing victory through systematic fraud in the tallying process. Riots erupted in many parts of the country immediately after the announcement. Violence continued on Monday, with at least 100 people dead, mostly in western Kenya, an Odinga stronghold.
