Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass - A Beating Heart Procedure
http://www.or-live.com/MercyHospital/1789 Coronary Artery Disease: Mercy Hospital's Romualdo "Peter" J. Segurola, M.D., chief cardiopulmonary division, will present an off-pump open-heart surgery with proximal connectors and minimally invasive conduit harvesting during a live webcast on Thursday, October 4th at 5:00 p.m. Jose Marquez, M.D., cardiologist, will join Dr. Segurola to discuss this procedure and expected patient outcomes associated with off-pump surgery. Dr. Segurola will perform the off-pump surgery as part of Mercy Hospital's program to broadcast select surgeries on the web so individuals can log on and view what takes place in the operating room during those procedures. Mercy initiated this program with hopes of minimizing the fear and anxiety associated with surgery due to the fear of the unknown. The off-pump surgery will be the third procedure that Mercy Hospital has broadcast live on the web can be viewed at www.mercymiami.org.
