detectives are on the scene of a deadly police shooting. police were called about a robbery at the walgreens on coors and sequoia — and tonight the suspect is dead. kayla anderson has been on the scene all afternoon. she’s live to tell us what happened. kayla? shortly before noon police were called out to this walgreens about a robbery. an officer approached the suspect inside the store and that's when he took off, into the don chalmers car dealership parking lot. another officer chased him across the street, toward a daycare, and then shot and killed him. police say the suspect's body is still here-- in an alley leading to a storage facility. he's described as an hispanic man, about 5'6 and 160 pounds. we're told he died from a gunshot wound to his upper body. police say he was able to steal some items from the walgreens.... but they aren't saying what he took... or if he had a gun. right now police are tryingo figure out if the man was behind several other robberies. police are still interviewing witnesses here. we're told at least one officer will be put on paid leave. that's standard procedure. one more note for some very concerned parents-- there is a daycare, just to the north of the walgreens behind me. it was put on lockdown and most of the kids have been picked up. but, if you have a child there, call ahead, and they'll take him or her to a sister daycare so you don't have to come to this area because of all the police out here.
