Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are making one last push ahead of Pennsylvania's Democratic primary tomorrow. Both candidates have focused their attention on the state for more than a month. Pennsylvania is the biggest contest remaining in the race, with 158 delegates up for grabs. Obama leads Clinton in the overall delegate count while Clinton has a slight edge over Obama in superdelegates. Meanwhile, Senator Hillary Clinton began an important stretch of her presidential campaign in debt. She reportedly started the month of April in the red. That's according to campaign reports filed with the Federal Election Commission over the weekend. The New York Senator apparently had about $8 million in cash to spend on primary elections and caucuses at that time, and $10.3 million in debt. Her rival, Senator Barack Obama started April with about five times more cash at $42.5 million. Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter says Israel's enemy, Hamas, may accept the Jewish state's right to exist. Carter met with Hamas in Syria last week, despite disapproval from the Bush administration. The U.S. considers the group a terrorist organization. Hamas leaders reportedly told the former president that the group would accept a peace agreement negotiated by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas if the agreement is submitted to the Palestinian people for approval. Pope Benedict the 16 is calling on the faithful to be obedient to the church. The Pope made the statement yesterday to a crowd of 60 thousand people at Yankee Stadium in New York. Benedict ended his six-day trip to the U.S. yesterday. During his visit, he addressed world issues with President Bush, prayed for peace at Ground Zero, and spoke of his shame over the child sexual abuse scandal that's damaged the Catholic Church's standing in many American dioceses.
