Janie Stute is helping people feel better one toe a time... (Janie Stute, Bismarck Nurse) My theory is if you’re feet feel good, you're mind and you're body feel better. (Reporter Tracy Fugere) Janie is a nurse in Bismarck who 25 years ago started giving pedicures to inmates at the state penitentiary. The inmates were complaining about their toes, so she decided to take care of their feet. And then something happened. Janie says their attitudes started changing and they started to mellow out...So now she helps others in the community because of the great need for home healthcare... (Janie Stute, Bismarck Nurse) I like corns and bunions...yes! Yeah! Well, it's like, when you can see them and you can see what you've done to them to change them, that's when you can walk away and say 'yeah, I was able to change something.' (Reporter Tracy Fugere) She also does pedicures for people that just want to feel good... (Janie Stute, Bismarck Nurse) A lot of that is socialization. I get to find out where they are coming from mentally...Sometimes I'm the only family that comes in because the other families are out of town or out of state, things like that, so. It's to add to socialization and really find out what these people are all about and add some happiness to them. (Reporter Tracy Fugere) But you don't have to be homebound for Janie to visit your home for a session of pedicures... (Janie Stute, Bismarck) I have a couple girls that will invite some of their friends over and they have their little hot totties and I do their feet.
