The Hokies and Hoos faced off on Saturday Nov. 24 2007 with the ACC s Coastal Division on the line. Virginia Tech 9-2 entering the game was looking for its fourth straight win over instate rival Virginia also 9-2. Behind a balanced offensive and great-when-they-needed-it defense Virginia Tech beat the Hoos 33-21 in Charlottesville to claim its second Coastal Division title in three years. Al Groh head coach at Virginia is not 1-6 against the Hokies. Good thing the rivalry isn t of the same caliber as Ohio State-Michigan or he would probably be fired.
