After a sought-after career as a ballet dancer which was cut short by an injury and a successful model career, German actress Diane Kruger made her film debut in The Piano Player opposite Dennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert. Her second movie and first big role was the her role as Clara in Mon Idole, co-starring and directed by her husband at that time Guillaume Canet. In 2003 she played alongside Josh Hartnett and Rose Byrne in Wicker Park and in 2004 she starred as Helen of Troy in Wolfgang Petersen's historical epic Troy. in 2009 she plays the role of Bridget von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino's World War 2 movie Inglourious Basterds.
