More a character drama than a classic shoot-'em-up Western, this sagebrush saga stars Joel McCrea as rancher Del Rockwell, who becomes obsessed with possessing a wild black stallion called Outlaw that's eluded all attempts at capture so far. Joined by fellow rancher Aldia Spain (Mari Blanchard), Rockwell chases the magnificent horse through striking Western landscapes, determined to keep another rancher from capturing the prize first.
