This heartfelt drama stars George C. Scott as Max, who's under great pressure from a failing business and stagnating marriage. When a car accident leaves him with amnesia, he finds a new life and purpose as a handyman in a Latino migrant community. Ruben Lazardo (Hector Elizondo), the workers' leader, inspires Max, but as his memory slowly returns, Max must examine his past mistakes and reach out to his wife, Arlene (Beverly Garland).
