Separated from their regiment during World War II, three British paratroopers -- educated John (David Hemmings), by-the-book Tom (Tom Bell) and sadistic Cliff (Tony Beckley) -- clash with each other as they try to connect with their sergeant for further orders. As the three young men search for their fellow soldiers, they take a German officer (Alan Dobie) prisoner and and come face-to-face with the horrors of war.
