Since spring training is held in locations with warmer climate such as Florida or Arizona, and since it usually coincides with spring break for many college students, spring training attracts a lot of fans. Florida-training teams play in the Grapefruit League, Arizona-training teams play in the Cactus League.

The 2010 Winter X Games Europe are held at Tignes ski area in the Northern French Alps on March 9-12, 2010. Men's and Women’s Super Pipe Ski and Snowboard, the Men's and Women’s Slopestyle Ski and Snowboard, and a freestyle Snowmobile demo.
