This comedy centers on the lives of two very different brothers--Charlie, Alan Harper, and Alan's son Jake. The Story line of Two and a Half Men thickens as Alan who recently got a divorce from his wife Judith, ends up moving into Charlie’s home, putting a damper on his care free playboy lifestyle filling it with unexpected adventures that only two brothers could share.
What makes this comedy interesting is the diverse main characters of Two and a Half Men. Charlie Harper, played by actor Charlie Sheen, is a well off jingle writer and playboy who owns a beach house in Malibu California. Charlie’s brother Alan Harper, played by Jon Cryer, is a divorced, overly tense Chiropractor who just cannot seem to get a break in life. Alan's son Jake, played by actor Angus T. Young, is an extremely lovable adolescent who captures your heart with his innocence and curiosity. Judith, Alan’s unstable ex-wife is played by actress Marin Hinkle. Evelyn, played by Holland Taylor, is Charlie and Alan’s toxic mother, who holds claim to her innocence of any wrong doing. Berta, Charlie’s housekeeper, is played by actress Conchata Ferrell is outspoken, sassy and overbearing making her simply irresistible to love. Charlie’s neighbor, Rose, played by actress Melanie Lynskey, is often seen climbing up on Charlie’s deck is referred to as his friendly stalker after a one night stand with Charlie.
The sitcom Two and a Half Men is filled with endless laughter as two bachelor brothers do their best to raise Jake who experiences unexpected circumstances along the way. This show portrays the true meaning of what it means to have unconditional brotherly love and love towards family.
