The Berliner Philharmoniker (Berlin Philharmonic) was founded in 1882 and is a democratic, self-governing orchestra with 128 world class musicians. It orchestra is located in the Philharmonie in Berlin, Germany, and was voted number three of the top European Orchestras after the Vienna Philharmonic and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
On October 31, 2009, the Berlin Philharmonic present Hans Krasa's Symphony for mezzo-soprano and small orchestra, Arnold Schoenberg's Chamber Symphony No. 1, and Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 2.
