The 24 Heures du Mans (24 Hours of Le Mans), also known as the Grand Prix of Endurance and Efficiency, is the world's oldest sports car race in endurance racing. The race is organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) and held annually on the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France.

The cars' as well as the drivers' endurance are tested. While keeping an eye on speed, cars need to be able to run for 24 hours without sustaining mechanical damage to the car. Drivers need to manage the cars' consumables, primarily fuel, tyres and braking materials while frequently spending over two hours behind the wheel before allowing one of two relief drivers to take over the driving duties.

The race begins in mid-afternoon and ends mid-afternoon the following day. During that time race teams complete race distances well over 5000 kilometres.
