The Africa Cup of Nations or African Nations Cup (ANC) was founded in 1957 by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and is Africa's main international association football competition.
Every two years, sixteen teams - four groups of four teams each - fight for the championship title. The top two teams of each group advance to a knock-out stage which is then followed with the final match between the knock-out stage winners.
