The Ryder Cup (Ryder Cup Matches) is a golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States, organized by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour. The tournament is held every two years either in the United States or Europe.

Two teams of twelve play eight foursomes matches, eight fourball matches and 12 singles matches. The winner of each match scores a point for their team, with ½ a point each for any match that is tied after 18 holes.

For Team Europe, the top 12 players of the European Tour list and the Official World Golf Rankings points list participate in thr tournament.
For Team USA, the top eight players of the four major championships automatically qualify for the tournament and the remaining four places are reserved as captain’s picks.
