WTA Tour Championships
The WTA Tour Championships, currently sponsored by Sony Ericsson and therefore also called the Sony Ericsson Championships, are part of the WTA Tour and are held annually in October.
The singles event is a round robin event and features eight players with four players in each pool. The top 2 in each pool move on to the semifinals. The winners of each semifinal meet in the championship match.
The doubles event at the Sony Ericsson Championships is a single elimination draw and features four teams.
