The Sci-Fi network original series Eureka is set in a strange small town somewhere in Oregon, where some of the world's most important scientific advances are taking place every day. In the tiny town of Eureka, nearly every citizen is not just smart but a genius.

A shadowy entity called Global Dynamics is funding the scientific projects in the town of Eureka , and the mystery doesn't stop there: it seems that the United States Government is actually behind the company. Unfortunately the scientic experiments regularly go wrong, with far reaching implications.

Eureka has a cast populated by offbeat yet largely charming characters, with each of the three seasons introducing new additions to the town. The cast is headed up by town sheriff Jack Carter(Colin Ferguson), who accidentally stumbled into his newfound position while taking his wildchild daughter Zoe(Jordan Hinson) to her mom's home in Los Angeles. Zoe's brilliant boyfriend Lucas(Vanya Asher) joins the show later on and helps her to come to actually enjoy the strange small town. Allison Blake(Salli Richardson-Whitfield) is a doctor who works for the US government in a high ranking position, and then later leads up Global Dynamics. Other town scientists include Dr. Nathan Stark(Ed Quinn), a quirky scientist who is also Allison's ex husband, and Dr. Harry Deacon(Joe Morton) a scientist turned mechanic who is struggling with the morality of Global Dynamics experiments.
