The Biggest Loser is a weight loss reality television competition. Currently going into its eighth season, The Biggest Loser has been a great help in reducing the obesity rate in the United States. The show invites contestants to The Biggest Loser Ranch, which is a secluded campus designed around fitness. The contestants are split into two teams and each team works with trainer Jillian or Bob. The two teams work with their trainer in the gym as well as in the kitchen to learn the ins and outs of weight loss.

Throughout the season the teams compete in a series of challenges. Each week there is a reward challenge as well as a weekly weigh in. At the weigh in, the team that has the lowest weight loss will have to send one of their members home. When there is only 3 or 4 contestants left they are all sent home to test what they have learned on their own. Every contestant comes back for the finally and the one who has lost the most overall is crowned The Biggest Loser.

The show is designed to help overweight people lose weight and lead a healthy lifestyle. The Biggest Loser trainers teach their contestants, as well as the rest of America, how combining exercise and a healthy diet can allow you to lose the weight wanted and become healthy.
