The Rachel Maddow Show is a political news show that airs on MSNBC. Maddow offers her audience members political commentary on the day’s political and current events that are affecting the nation. The show is sixty minutes long and airs on Monday through Friday.

Rachel Maddow often interviews politicians on her show. She began her career on television by appearing on shows such as “Hardball” and “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” as a special contributor. She does identify herself as a liberal and often voices her support for gay and lesbian rights issues on her show.

The show is divided into ten to fifteen minute segments. The first segment of the show is basically Maddow running down a list of topics that she will discuss on the program. She gives a brief overview of the day’s events so that people can know who will be appearing on that particular show. The second segment is entitled Rachel RE: which is supposed to be a riff off of an email title. The segment is basically Rachel voicing her opinion on one particular subject for five minutes or more.

The third segment involves Rachel interviewing one person such as a politician or political activist. She often asks tough questions to those individuals being interviewed in order to really grasp the issues being discussed. The final segment is entitled Debunktion Junction. The segment involves Rachel talking about many issues such as pop culture, sports, and other news stories about various subjects, after this she signs off.
