Top Chef: Just Desserts is a competition show on the cable channel Bravo that is hosted by “Food and Wine Magazine” food critic Gail Simmons. Simmons has also appeared as a judge on “Top Chef” since its beginning.
The competition show mainly features pastry chefs who want to win a monetary grand prize so that they can start their own business.

The show has a format that involves two types of challenges: quick fire and elimination. The quick fire challenge is a quick pastry challenge that usually takes less than three hours. The contestant who wins the challenge gets a monetary prize or immunity. After the competition has reached the halfway point immunity is no longer given out as a reward. The person who wins after this threshold has occurred usually is given a special advantage over The Other competitors in the elimination challenge such as getting to pick ingredients or team mates.

Top Chef: Just Desserts has three judges. They are Johnny Iuzzini, Hubert Keller and Dannielle Kyrillos.

The elimination challenge typically is a hard challenge that forces contestants into duos or teams in order to accomplish a task. There are three people classified as being in the top and three people in the bottom. A winner is chosen and in some instances wins a prize. The bottom three have to justify their actions and why they deserve to stay on Top Chef: Just Desserts and then the three judges make a decision as to who has to go.
