Truck racing involves heavy tractor units and is organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Trucks race at a maximum speed of 160 km/h (100 mph) and weigh a minimum of 5500 kg. A race typically lasts from 8 to 12 laps.
Race truck manufacturers include: ERF, Foden, Iveco, MAN AG, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scammell, Scania AB, Seddon Atkinson, Sisu Auto, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Volvo, Zavod, Imeni Likhacheva (ZIL).
The FIA European Championships take place every year.
