The UEFA Europa League, or previously known as the UEFA Cup, is the second most important multi-national European football competition after the UEFA Champions League. Football clubs qualify for the UEFA Europa League based on the results of their national leagues and other cups. The competition was renamed to the UEFA Europa League beginning with the 2009–10 season.
