Kitchen Nightmares
Chef Gordon Ramsay exposes restaurants in desperate need of a complete turnaround; he shows the true colors of the workings of restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares. He not only drags all skeletons out of the closet for everyone to see, but directly and candidly gets restaurant owners and employees to fess up and take responsibility for the debacle they call their restaurant.

Chef Ramsay brings brute British straightforwardness that is both shocking and addictive. Airing on Fox in September of 2007, Americans were introduced to Chef Gordon Ramsay as they watched Kitchen Nightmares. Whether you were disgusted by his findings or disgusted by him, your eyes could not and would not move from the television. Chef Ramsay provides an unapologetic and direct approach as he gets one lucky restaurant not only up to par, but somehow transforms what was nothing into something spectacular.

Though no recognition or nods in terms of awards just yet, Chef Ramsay has taken the culinary world by storm with his brash personality, unparalleled cooking ability, and amazing teaching ability. Kitchen Nightmares takes neighborhood dives or restaurants that used to be "hot spots" and turns everything upside down. Chef Ramsay is met with staggering circumstances like unsanitary conditions, issues with finances, and inedible food.

With commentary from all players involved, the audience experiences both Chef Ramsay's frustrations and the families or employees struggles. But Chef Ramsay is in no way unfair; he is direct and at times insulting, but he always backs up what he says. Providing failing restaurants with the opportunity of a lifetime, tears are shed and relationships are mended as we watch both the restaurant and families become whole again.

Once the transformation has been made and the employees have stepped up to the plate, the audience gets the chance to see a side of Chef Ramsay we never thought existed. We see his genuine excitement for the restaurant owners and employees; we see his compassion; and we see how all players involved recognize the true greatness that is Chef Gordon Ramsay in Kitchen Nightmares.
